Bill Catalano
Managing Director

Bill Catalano founded BCE Surveying in 1994 and is the Owner/Director of BCE Surveying and BCE Spatial, he is also the Owner/Director of BCE Boodja Surveying with Michael Little. He prides himself on offering a high quality of service to the client and a rewarding place for employees to work and expand on their skills.
Bill started his career with the Public Works Department / Water Authority of WA (now known as the Water Corporation) in 1977 and worked there until 1993. He has extensive experience in engineering, construction, cadastral, geodetic surveying, dimensional control, precise levelling 1st and 2nd order, dam deformation monitoring, land development, project management, 3D spatial surveys including mobile, terrestrial laser scanning and underground utility’s locations.
His leadership and entrepreneurial skills have enabled the company to expand into the East Coast market, with offices now in Sydney and Melbourne.
Bill is a member of WAIS and GCA.

Katrina Catalano
Chief Financial Officer

Katrina Catalano holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Murdoch University with a double major in Extractive Metallurgy and Chemistry (with First Class Honours).  She started her career working on remote mine sites, from Newman to Groote Eylandt, in the roles of Plant/Project Metallurgist.  She returned to Perth in 1994 to engage in a private business venture before moving onto a position as Senior Metallurgist for a metallurgical testing facility.
Katrina joined BCE in early 2000, moving from Perth to Bunbury to help grow the business which she co-owns with Bill.  She developed all the admin, HR, accounting and QA systems with Bill and has been instrumental in their evolution over the years.  She has developed a good understanding of Surveying and supports the Licensed Surveying team with their land development projects.
Today Katrina continues to work full-time in the business and is supported by a very dedicated admin team.  She prides herself with meticulous record keeping and plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the business.

Michael Little
Director BCE Boodja Surveying

Michael Little is a Noongar Yamatji man with traditional connections to Wilman, Wadandi and Nyikita people and has extensive experience in business and traditional Owner Engagement.

He is also the Owner/Director of BCE Boodja Surveying since its incorporation in 2013.

Michael’s professional experience is in community and business development, native title and strategic engagement with Aboriginal communities.

John Hammon
WA State Manager

John Hammon joined BCE in 2021 as a multi-disciplined qualified surveyor with more than 23 years’ experience throughout Australia and overseas.

John has extensive experience in project management of large scale complex projects, geodetic networks and new and emerging technologies.

As State Manager, John is responsible for all surveying and underground utility operations within Western Australia, operational strategic direction, project management and client liaison with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and client satisfaction.

John holds a Bachelor of Geomatic Engineering degree from the University of Melbourne.

Lorenzo Mazzei
NSW State Manager

Lorenzo Mazzei brings over 20 years of expertise in civil construction and surveying. With a solid foundation in setting up survey procedures and managing projects. Lorenzo excels in quality assurance, WHS compliance, and mentoring staff. He oversees the NSW team, focusing on business development, team supervision, and project budgeting. Lorenzo is proficient in various software, including 12D, Topcon 3D, AutoCAD, Terramodel, and Trimble.
Throughout his career, Lorenzo has managed significant projects such as the Richmond Rd Upgrade, Werrington Arterial Road, and Brisbane Riverwalk, demonstrating his ability to lead teams and deliver projects under budget. His experience includes supervising surveyors and utility locators, providing survey support, and overseeing mobile scanning operations. Lorenzo holds Diplomas in Surveying and Land & Quantity Surveying, underscoring his comprehensive knowledge and commitment to the industry.

David Prasad VIC State Manager

David Prasad joined BCE Spatial in 2024, as the Victorian State Manager. David brings to BCE more than 27 years of experience in both cadastral and engineering surveying disciplines.
He has previously been involved in a number of high-profile civil construction, building construction, civil engineering, land development and transport projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, Pacific and Fiji.
Experienced in leading and managing survey teams, David combines his solid experience in a supervisory capacity with strong project management and leadership skills. Having completed his Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Surveying & Geographical,  Information Systems,  David has experience over a diverse range of surveying and engineering projects, expanding across coal mine, planning and mine rehabilitation, earthworks, LNG oil and gas works in Gladstone and land surveying throughout Queensland. He has successfully been involved with high profile projects such as the Tullamarine widening, West Gate Tunnel, Metro Tunnel and the North East Link project in Melbourne. David holds an Engineering Surveyor  Spatial Science Institute (SSSI) and a VBA registration as a qualified professional consultant.

Damian Morris
Survey Manager

Damian Morris is the Survey Manager at BCE’s Bunbury branch and manages the Bunbury projects, surveyors, trainees and contractors. He holds an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Surveying).
He manages project preparation, Quality and WHS compliance for the South West and surrounding works. With over 30 years of surveying experience in the construction, civil, mining and general surveying sectors.
Having spent more than 20 years working on major WA infrastructure projects both in the South West and the Pilbara, he specialises in GPS and TS based machine control systems maintenance, setup and construction modelling. He is both multi-rotor and VTOL drone (UAV) qualified and works on small and large scale UAV and Hydrographic project works for surface, volumetric and Ortho mosaic deliverables.

Chris McIntosh
Business Development Manager

Chris McIntosh is BCE’s Business Development Manager and has been with BCE in this position for 8 years.

At BCE Surveying, his roles include client liaison, being the point of contact for new and existing customers, he assists with facilitation of contract requirements and tenders preparation and he ensures ongoing customer consideration and satisfaction.

Darlene Cattach
HSEQ Manager

Darlene Cattach has worked as the lead in Quality Management systems compliant to ISO9001 since 1994.   She has owned and worked in a variety of small businesses in the manufacturing and wholesale sectors managing their finances, administration and Quality Assurance. 

Darlene maintains and improves BCE’s Quality and Safety systems and their compliance to ISO9001 and ISO45001. With Darlene’s accounting experience and qualifications, she facilitates HR, payroll, accounts receivables and other administrative duties in the Bunbury office of BCE Surveying in addition to the Health, Safety and Quality roles.
